I am an Interior Architect/Designer residing in Oman. I love learning and trying new things. So, this is a place for me to showcase that and some of my freelance work. Plus, I get to share interesting (and not so interesting) things with you on my blog.
Welcome to my site.
I’ve been living in Oman for so long and I went on my first desert trip last November! It was amazing! I came across this tour group on Instagram — Salalah Adventure tours. I’ve been following them for months now and I decided to join their trip to the desert on the occasion of the 50th National Day Holidays. I booked my slot on the trip and was looking forward for the trip. I was a bit uneasy going alone but luckily at the last minute, my bestie was able to join me on this trip.
This is a detailed review and experience of that trip (or you can just scroll down to the end and watch the video blog).
Sleep is so important! I use to take it for granted because I didn’t have a proper routine. Now, that I do, sleep is a priority. A good night sleep sets the tone for the next day! Also, it’s not only about getting a good night sleep but also going to bed on time. I’m a night owl. I love the nights and I actually prefer working at night than during the day because it is more peaceful. Now, I’ve been sleeping before 12am (I use to sleep at 1am) or sometimes I’m knocked out before 11.30pm ever since I started walking early in the morning. Anyway, here is my week three documentation. It will be my last week of entry. I would probably just publish an update later on or maybe if I make it to Day 90. Who knows but for now I’m happy I made it to week three.
This isn’t the first time that I have to wake up early for a morning walk. 5 years ago I did this clean eating challenge for two weeks and then started waking up early to exercise. The exercises were 3 times a week meaning I would wake up at 5.45am alternate days and exercise for about 45 minutes, have breakfast and get ready for work. I think I did that for 3 months and that built the foundation for me to lead a healthy lifestyle. However, in the last 2 years, my health has been declining and hence, this morning walk challenge. Let’s go week two. Read week one here for an introduction on why I’m doing a journal entry on my daily walk.
It is said that it takes 21 days to build a habit and 90 days to turn it into a lifestyle. This is the challenge I’ve embarked on. Ever since I started working at the new company I’m in, I've been clued to my desk for almost 9 hours a day. Initially I tried to go on walks with friends after work and it went well for a month or so until our timings didn’t coincide anymore. Then, it just went downhill from there. I’ve stopped doing any form of exercise, I stopped dancing which I love, I’ve stopped stretching and I’m just so tired from work that I don’t want to do anything else but to Netflix and chill.
It got really bad one week where I felt so weak and I was literally drained like there was no energy left in me. That’s when I realized,
Hey guys!
I’m back with another post. Wohoo. Two posts in two days? Who am I? Anyway, I really wanted to write about this because it was such a fun experience.
Since we can’t have a party or go anywhere to celebrate halloween, my friends and I decided to have a halloween photo shoot instead. We weren’t even sure if we would really do it till the very last minute and our friend Asmaa did an amazing job on our faces! It looked so real, so professional.
You’d think it’s all fun having all the time in the world and just be chilling at home but boy was I wrong. In general, I do love staying in but the fact that we were advised NOT to go out, made me want to go out even more. You know that feeling right? The first few weeks of social distancing was hard—
Using digital camera on auto mode doesn’t allow us to fully understand the potential of the camera we have at hand. On auto mode, cameras automatically adjust its aperture, shutter speed and focus. In life, if we don’t intentionally live and be present, we lose focus and we don’t get the chance to fully enjoy it. Sometimes, when we become too busy with our lives, we go on this automated mode and forget to connect with our surroundings and ourselves at a deeper level. We become almost robotic and then question what we are doing with our lives.
Hey guys!
Here are some pictures I took and edited of the Mirbat trip we took a couple of weeks ago. It was a landscape photography road trip turned into our own personal photoshoot (of course). Normally I would share pictures on instagram but it’s so much better sharing them here on full resolution. Also, I’m starting to collaborate with friends on my blog posts and on this post I asked Asmaa to write her thoughts about the trip. Read what she has to say below.
So, I wasn’t planning on posting about this; but at the same time, to not write about it wouldn’t be just or feel right either.
I woke up early in the morning on Saturday, the 11th of January 2020. My social media was flooded with images of him. It took me a minute to understand and realize what was happening.

At the beginning of the year, a friend asked if I had plans to travel to Europe. I’ve never been and I’ve always thought about traveling there one day but I didn’t think it would be this year. Ever since that question, I had a strong urge to travel and make it happen.
Fast forward to May 2023, I can’t believe I made it to Italy! If I could summarize my northern Italy trip in a few words, it would be - stunning picturesque landscapes, rich culture & beautiful historic architecture. It was beyond than what I expected, almost perfect. I say perfect because yes, there were minor things that didn’t go to plan but if they did go to plan, I wouldn’t have met the friends I made or have the memories I do now.
I did do a lot of research and planning for the trip since I did everything by myself (with the help and guidance from friends of the places to go to of course) and not through a travel agency. All those planning and research paid off because I was able to do most of the things on my list one way or the other which made me so happy and therefore, another reason why I say it’s perfect.
